Webworld Develops Robust Healthcare Website for Federally Funded National Quality Center

Background:

The National Quality Center (NQC), in conjunction with the HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, provides free, state-of-the-art technical assistance to all healthcare grantees who have received federal funds under the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act of 2006. Since its inception in 2004, NQC has established itself as an authoritative and valuable source of information and training for thousands of HIV/AIDS healthcare professionals around the U.S.

The Challenge:

As a young, expanding organization, NQC needed an engaging website that would offer quality improvement information and tools to busy healthcare professionals. This would have to be a robust website, complete with a multi-media distance learning academy and custom web applications designed to NQC’s unique requirements. All of this would have to be done within a non-profit's budget.

The Solution:

Webworld developed a solution for NQC based on an inexpensive and easy-to-use content management system that Webworld had produced in-house. Working in close partnership with NQC stakeholders, graphic designer and copywriter, Webworld performed a number of critical tasks to get the website operational. These included:

Standard Page Templates: Webworld consultants fleshed out the details for the website’s design in order to maintain NQC’s branding and to provide the rich functionality NQC desired. Once approved by the client, Webworld converted the design into page templates to ensure the official look-and-feel throughout the site and integrated these with the web content management solution.

Content Management Solution Training: Webworld delivered training sessions to NQC staff so they could begin to add content to the website.

Website Statistics: Webworld added Google Analytics to provide valuable insight on the number of visitors, sources of the traffic, average time sent on the site and most popular content.

Healthcare Quality Improvement Research Tool: NQC needed a tool that busy healthcare professionals could use to quickly locate resources that could help them improve the quality of care for HIV/AIDS patients in their facilities. Webworld developed a custom application that enables users to search for documents using search terms or a filter function that helps users identify resources by topic. Mailing List Integration: Visitors can easily register to receive NQC’s newsletter thanks to Webworld's seamless integration of the site with NQC’s email server. URL: http://www.nationalqualitycenter.org/index.cfm/8610.

The Quality Academy – NQC’s Distance Learning Center: The centerpiece of the NQC website is its Quality Academy, a distance learning center that contains 27 English and eight Spanish distance learning modules designed to train healthcare professionals in quality improvement best practices.  URL: http://www.nationalqualitycenter.org/index.cfm/5847/8860.
