Internet Solutions
The Internet Technology Solutions Architects
Webworld Technologies has over ten years experience designing, developing, implementing and maintaining business solutions based on Internet technologies. Due to our extensive experience with all aspects of deploying web applications and sites we, approach projects today as Internet "Solutions Architects."
As Internet Solution Architects we provide:
We believe that obtaining a thorough understanding of the business need should be the first step in any project, no matter its size. Only after this "need" is clearly defined can the appropriate Internet technologies, or mix of technologies, be determined that will get the desired business result.
Often the need is a specific problem that must be solved. Sometimes the need is to support and improve something that is going well. In either case, the key point is to ensure that a valid business requirement is driving the technology solution. We do not believe in implementing technology for technology's sake--technologies exists to support and forward an organizations purposes and processes.
Definitions of Terms
In order to be very clear about what we do, we feel it is important to define the terms we are using to describe ourselves and our capabilities. The business world today is rife with buzzwords. In an attempt to avoid the lack of clarify that often arises from the use of these buzzwords we provide the following specific definitions:
Solutions Architect: This is a title for an experienced, specialized kind of IT consultant. It implies that the person is very capable in problem solving. Like a systems analyst, a solutions architect must have a balanced mix of technical and business skills.
Internet Technology: This embraces all technologies used to create, maintain and enhance web sites, including applications and functionalities that use the Internet network and infrastructure to operate. It includes as well the various processes used to select, implement, maintain and enhance web sites and web applications. While "Internet Technology" is but a sub-set of the broader category called "Information Technology," it is still very large in scope.
Solutions: Admittedly, this has become something of an IT marketing buzzword. But it is an apt term when used to signify the provision of a mix of consulting services, such as custom programming, and hardware/infrastructure recommendations to solve a customer's problem. "Solutions" implies a range of custom-tailored services rather than one off-the-shelf package.
